This weekend is going to be one I don't think we will ever forget. Melvin had left to go to 29 Palms (out in the desert) the weekend before last! For his monthly training it was called gunnery this time! So I ended going to San Diego this last weekend to have a girls night (sorry no pics of my girls night Melvin had the camera) with two of my friends Sydney and Jenell, which just so happened to be the wives of two of the guys that are in Melvin's unit and who were also in 29 Palms. Anyways the girls and me are just having some fun hanging out, talking, having a few drinks and playing some video games! lol! When at around 12:30 a.m. Jenell's husband ends up calling her to talk to me!!! So get on the phone and he tells me "Melvin got hurt they are taking him to the hospital." I then ask "Is he hurt really bad and what happened?" He reassures me by saying "He is fine, he just hurt his finger." I ask "Did he brake his hand? How bad did he hurt it?" He said "No it is not broken he just got a cut it." So I ended up trying to call Melvin but he didn't answer until about 3 in the morning.! He said he was fine and not to worry about him and to just have fun!! I also told him so send me a picture of his finger so I could see if it was bad! I went to bed that night and didn't end up having the best night of sleep I could have!!!
The next morning Sydney and I woke up early and Jenell ended up sleeping until like 10:30, she had made plans with her to sisters that day to go shopping so she left about 11 and then it was just Sydney and I left, so we watch a movie it was cute...called "Life as we know it" and then we ended up taking her dogs to the dog beach! That was a lot of fun and made me want a dog just that much more!!! They are just so cute and so much fun!! Melvin had called me around 3 p.m. to tell me to be on base to pick him up around 6 p.m. and I told him I would. At this time Sydney and I are now back at her apartment just hang out and talking. So at about 4:30 p.m. I finally got that picture (I'm not going to post the pic...sorry) I had been waiting for all day!!! And when I saw it I went into shock and I think I am still in shock! Melvin had lost half of his pinky on his left hand!
We are both still in shock from it I think, but he took it pretty hard. He is getting better and he is so strong and tough! I love him so much and I know he never reads this thing but I am always here for you and you are always going to be the love of my life!!
